**What's the Big Idea? Weather, plants, animals and people can cause changes to our environment.
**Vocabulary Words: flood- A flood happens when there is too much rain. Rivers and streams get too full. The water flows onto the land taking soil with it. drought- A drought is a long time with little rain that causes the land to get very dry. erosion-Erosion happens when moving water carries rocks and soil to new places. environment- An environment is all the living and nonliving things in a place. pollution- Waste that harms the air, water, or land is pollution.
**Homework Connection-Take a walk with your family and look for land changes in the environment. Did you see any examples of erosion? Where? What do you think caused it? Do you see any other examples of changes to the land? What do you think caused them? Write down your findings and share them with the class!
